We did not start with the AI.
IntelliLine has been a live-agent communications company for years, handling calls for people whose reputations depend on how those calls are handled. The AI came later. That order is why our systems know where a person belongs.
How the company evolved
We built our expertise around real customer communication — law firms taking intake at two in the morning, medical practices routing on-call, property managers dispatching an emergency, executives whose accessibility has to be controlled rather than open.
That work taught us something the technology industry keeps having to relearn: automation is genuinely good at the first ten seconds, and genuinely bad at a person who is upset, confused, or does not know which service they need.
Then AI got good enough to change the arithmetic. Far more of the work became automatable — and the question stopped being can this be automated and became should it be. The strongest operating model we have found combines deterministic automation, AI agents and real human judgement, each doing the part it is actually better at.
IntelliLine evolved to build and operate those systems. We kept the live desk, because it turns out to be the hardest part to replicate and the part clients value most on the days that matter.
What we believe
Four positions we will argue for
Deterministic beats clever
If a rule does the job, a rule wins. Reliability is worth more than sophistication, and it is cheaper.
The handoff is the product
Anyone can bolt an AI onto a phone line. Designing what happens when it should stop is the actual work.
Own the outcome, not the stack
We are not a reseller. The technology underneath is our problem, and it changes when it should.
Say no early
A consultation that ends in 'this is not for you' is a good outcome. The alternative costs everyone more.
Who we work with
Organizations where a mishandled interaction has a real cost — a lost matter, a damaged relationship, a compliance problem, a reputation. That has meant law firms, medical and healthcare practices, real estate and property organizations, security and protective-service providers, executives and family offices, home services, logistics and professional services.
What they have in common is not industry. It is that the operation has outgrown the number of things one person can personally watch.
